How It Works

From your services to a coverage map

  1. Tell us what you do

Pick your industry and every service you offer. Each service maps to the exposures underwriters look at.

  2. See your coverage map

Compare those exposures with the policies you have now. Possible gaps and items to verify are flagged.

  3. Get quotes

Continue to our cyber insurance application. Your answers carry over, and our brokers take it from there.

Why Operations Matter

Why mixed operations create coverage gaps

Cyber and E&O policies cover the activities they describe. When a business does more than one thing, part of the operation can fall outside those descriptions, or between two policies.

Definitions describe the business

Professional and technology services are defined in the policy. Activities outside those definitions may not be covered at all.

Cyber isn’t Tech E&O

Cyber insurance responds to breaches and attacks. A client’s financial loss from your technology or service failing usually needs Technology E&O.

Exclusions target specific activities

Exclusions written for one line of business can unexpectedly remove coverage for another part of your operation.

Applications describe a moment in time

New services added after the policy was placed may never have been disclosed or underwritten.

Two policies can still leave a gap

Separate policies for separate activities need to fit together, or a claim involving both may land between them.

Contracts set the bar

Client contracts often require specific coverage types and limits. Falling short can put a deal or renewal at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coverage Mapper questions, answered.

Have a question that isn’t here? Ask our team.

What does the Coverage Mapper do?

It matches the services your business offers to the cyber and errors and omissions exposures they typically create, shows which types of policies usually respond, and flags possible gaps based on the coverage you have now. It also lists questions to ask about your own policy.

Does the Coverage Mapper tell me whether I’m covered?

No. It is an educational tool based on your answers. Whether a claim is covered depends on your actual policy language, sublimits, exclusions, endorsements, and conditions. A broker review of your policy is the way to confirm coverage.

Is my information saved or sent anywhere?

No. The Coverage Mapper runs in your web browser and doesn’t save or send your answers. If you choose Get Quotes, your industry, services, and current coverage are passed to our application on your device so you don’t have to re-enter them.

What’s the difference between the Coverage Mapper and the application?

The Coverage Mapper takes about five minutes and shows where your coverage may fall short. The cyber insurance application collects the full underwriting details insurers need to quote, and produces a PDF you send to our team.

Why does my combination of services matter?

Policies are usually written for one kind of business. When you combine activities, such as selling software and providing insurance or professional services, part of the operation may fall outside a policy’s definitions or be affected by an exclusion written for another activity.
