Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you use ComplexCyber.com, including our free tools, articles, and online application.

Last Updated: October 21, 2026

The short version
  • No insurance is bound or quoted through this website. Coverage exists only once an insurer confirms it in writing.
  • Our articles and tools are general information, not legal advice or a determination of coverage.
  • Please answer applications accurately. We share what you submit with insurers to obtain quotes.
  • You’re welcome to use our tools for your own business. Please don’t copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer them.

This summary is for convenience. The full terms below control.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of ComplexCyber.com and its pages, articles, free tools, forms, and online application (together, the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Site on behalf of a business, you agree to these Terms for that business and confirm you have authority to do so. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

2. About us

The Site is operated by Cyber Data Risk Managers LLC (“CDRM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent insurance brokerage based in Miami, Florida. We are licensed as an insurance agency in Florida and place insurance only where we, or the licensed partners we work with, are properly licensed. We are not an insurance company, and we do not issue policies or pay claims.

3. No coverage through this website

No insurance is bound, issued, renewed, changed, or cancelled through the Site. Submitting an application, a form, or tool results does not create coverage, a quote, or an obligation for any insurer to offer coverage. Coverage is in place only when an insurer confirms it in writing and any required premium is paid.

Insurance availability, eligibility, terms, limits, retentions, and pricing are decided by insurers based on their underwriting. Please do not stop, reduce, or allow existing coverage to lapse based on anything on the Site.

4. General information only

Our articles, pages, and tool results are general, educational information. They are not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and they are not a review of your policy or a determination of whether any claim is or will be covered. Coverage depends on the specific policy wording, endorsements, exclusions, limits, and conditions.

Contract terms, insurance requirements, and regulations vary. Please review contracts with your own attorney, and confirm coverage questions with a licensed professional who has reviewed your policies. The information on the Site may change without notice and may not reflect the most current market conditions.

5. Our free tools

The Site offers free tools, including the Coverage Gap Assessment, Business Operations Coverage Mapper, Cyber Insurance Contract Checker, Cyber Insurance Limit Calculator, and Cyber Insurance Application (the “Tools”). The Tools run in your web browser and produce estimates, summaries, and reports based on the answers you provide and on general industry data.

  • Results are estimates and starting points for a conversation with a broker. They are not recommendations for a specific policy, and actual losses and coverage needs vary widely.
  • The Contract Checker reads contract language automatically and may miss or misread requirements. Always confirm requirements with the contracting party and your attorney.
  • Reports and PDFs created by the Tools are for your own use. Please don’t present them as a coverage opinion or recommendation from CDRM.
  • How the Tools handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Permitted use and restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to use the Site and the Tools for your own business or personal purposes, including evaluating and applying for insurance. You agree not to:

  • Copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or republish the Tools, their questions, logic, calculations, code, or design, in whole or in part;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, formulas, or underlying logic of the Tools, except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
  • Use the Site, the Tools, or their content to build, train, or improve a competing product or service, including an AI model or dataset;
  • Scrape, crawl, or collect content or data from the Site using bots, scripts, or other automated means, other than standard search engine indexing;
  • Submit false, misleading, or automated entries, or information about another person or business without authority to do so;
  • Interfere with, probe, or attempt to bypass the security of the Site, our forms, or the services we use; or
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could harm us, our clients, or other users.

We may suspend or block access to the Site for anyone who violates these Terms.

7. Information you submit

When you submit an application, a form, or tool results, you agree that:

  • The information is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge, and you will tell us promptly if it changes;
  • You are authorized to provide it on behalf of the business named;
  • We may share it with insurers, wholesale brokers, managing general agents, and other parties involved in obtaining quotes and placing coverage for you; and
  • We may contact you by email or phone about your request.

Insurers rely on application answers to decide whether and how to offer coverage. Inaccurate or incomplete answers can affect eligibility, pricing, or coverage, including whether a claim is paid. Submitting information does not make us your broker for any particular policy until we confirm that we will work with you.

8. How we are compensated

Our free tools and articles cost nothing to use. When we place coverage, we are typically paid a commission by the insurer, which is included in the premium. In some cases we may also receive other compensation permitted by law, such as a fee agreed with you in advance. You may ask us about our compensation at any time.

9. Intellectual property

The Site and its content, including text, articles, graphics, logos, the Tools, their questions, logic, calculations, and code, and the design of the Site, are owned by CDRM or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. “Complex Cyber,” “ComplexCyber.com,” and our logos are our trademarks. Except for the limited permission in Section 6, no rights are granted to you.

You may share links to our pages, and quote brief excerpts of our articles with a link back to the original. If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights, please contact us.

10. Third-party services and links

The Site relies on third-party services, such as Cognito Forms for secure form submissions, and links to third-party websites. Those services and websites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. A link does not mean we endorse the linked site.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and the Tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any tool result, estimate, or report is accurate or suitable for your needs.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CDRM and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Tools, even if we have been told such damages are possible. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Site or the Tools is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

This section applies to your use of the Site. It does not limit our professional responsibilities to clients for insurance services we agree to provide, which are governed by our separate engagement with you and applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CDRM and its owners, employees, and agents from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or information you submit that is false or that you were not authorized to provide.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

15. General terms

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site, and you may not assign your rights under them without our consent.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last Updated” date above will change. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept them.
